How to grow long and strong nails
Hi loves,
Thank you for your comments and messages that requested this blog post. Step by step, I will walk you through what I did to have a strong, long, and beautiful nails, but first let me describe how they were before the treatment.
For years my nails would grow a little and then easily break. I used to blame it on a lot of things, like genetics or not wearing gloves when I cleanup, etc. I was completely wrong. Anyone could grow their nails or hair if they take care of it and follow the right routine.
At the end of last year, I started researching how to take care of my hair and nails. My research led me to try so many methods, even ridiculous ones like soaking my nails in water, olive oil, and salt for 30 minutes, yes I did that! But I wouldn’t have gotten to what really works without these insane trials. As they say “failures lead to success”.
Two things you have to keep in mind, first, growing new healthy nails takes time. In my experience it took three months, but each person is different, so it might not be the same for you. In addition, I started in winter, when nails grow noticeably slower than summer.
Second, have time to take care of yourself and not only your nails, but also the state of your body and mind are crucial to your overall health. This is really important, so If you are busy, make a point of adding it to your calendar. We live in a time where accessing information is very easy but having the discipline and time to follow them is very hard.
Being a mom who works full-time and run a fashion blog as well, I totally understand. However, I found that putting these things on my daily to do list really helps me. I can go in depth on how to organize and plan your life in a different post if you like, but for now please set time to take care of this amazing person inside you. Ok, without any further ado, let’s get started.
Start by clipping your nails. Get rid of these weak nails that will break eventually anyways.
Moisturize your cuticles at least 3 times a day. You don’t need these expensive cuticles products. You can use any good oil you have like coconut, Jojoba, or grapeseed oil . I personally use sweet almond oil for my hand and nails.
Third and most important step is using a nail strengthener. I highly recommend using OPI one. I used many other products and they didn’t work as well. Here’s what you need to do
Starting with clean nails, apply two coats of your nail strengthener, then apply your favorite nail polish color, followed by an additional coat of the nail strengthener.
Re-apply a coat of the nail strengthener over your nail polish everyday and make sure to get all the edges. This step is very important to protect your nails from breaking.
On day 4-6, clean your nails with non acetone nail polish remover and start over.
Take your vitamins. I mentioned that in “How to grow your hair” post and will repeat it here. These vitamins are great, not only for your nails, but also for your hair and skin too.
These four steps are all I did to grow my nails. I hope you find them useful. I would love to hear your feedback down below.
Thank you for reading my posts,
Love you <3
